From tropical beaches and dense jungles to bustling cities and rich cultural experiences, it’s easy to see why Southeast Asia is such a popular holiday destination.
But while many are busy mapping out their fun-filled escape, travelling safely also requires careful consideration and preparation.
Depending on your length of your stay, the time of year, your planned activities and personal health, our team of expert pharmacists can advise on which travel vaccines you may need for your trip.

Other travel vaccinations to consider
Another vaccination to consider is polio. Although the risk is low, it can still be present in certain areas, so it’s important to ensure you are adequately protected, especially if travelling to more remote locations. You should also make sure that all routine vaccinations are up to date, such as influenza and measles, mumps and rubella (MMR), particularly if you will be travelling with children or individuals at higher risk.
Whilst some of these vaccinations may not be required for short trips, they may need to be considered for those planning to stay in the region for an extended period or will be traveling to very remote areas and staying with local communities in locations where sanitation and living conditions may be limited.
It is advised to consult a travel clinic 4-6 weeks before departure for personalised advice. We would also recommend that travellers consider other healthcare precautions such as drinking bottled water, carrying insect repellent and a travel health kit.
